RSMC Day of Action Raises Awareness of Unfair Treatment

Members from coast to coast to coast have done an absolutely amazing job to make the National Day of Action a resounding success.

The amount of work and coordination that went into the RSMC National Day of Action was an enormous challenge – especially in light of the short time lines. But the energy and passion members brought to it was living proof of our commitment to defend our members’ rights and public postal services.

The feedback we received from our members and the media about these actions was outstanding. Whether it was the actions in Pictou County, Nova Scotia, or Matane, Québec, or in front of MP Bruce Stanton’s office in Simcoe North, Ontario, or in Chilliwack, B.C., we sent a clear message to Canada Post that RSMCs are not second class citizens and that they deserve respect.

I am also really proud of the fact that members from different bargaining units were involved. Our solidarity is key to protecting and improving our rights. Together, the struggle continues…
